On June 1 2018 , GM launched its First Responder Discount program, which Swanson Buick GMC is proud to participate in. The initiative benefits are eligible for paid or volunteer police, firefighters, sheriff deputies, state troopers, correctional officers, EMTs/paramedics, 911 dispatchers, and federal law enforcement officers. If your job title falls under the umbrella of eligible first responder roles listed above, then take advantage of this limited incentive for a new Buick or GMC vehicle. The program runs now until January 2, 2019.

There are two caveats to the discount, however. The discount is available for up to two vehicles per calendar year. You also can't share it with another person, even a family member. Still, if you don't mind adhering to these minor stipulations, the discount should save you a significant sum of money when you purchase a new vehicle in the near future. You might be wondering how GM filters applicants, to make sure they're legitimate first responders. Simply visit the program's URL here and find the vehicle you want to purchase. Click through the prompts and fill out the appropriate fields. Eventually, one of the prompts will ask you to enter in your First Responder ID, via GM's partnership with ID.me to help verify individuals' eligibility for the discount. 

After you receive verification, you'll obtain an Authorization Code for the discount. Bring this code as well as a copy of your driver's license (with the license number redacted) to the dealership, to finish the purchasing process onsite with the dealership's Finance Department. The GM First Responder Discount program applies to some of the most popular vehicles that GM has to offer.
